Italian people celebrate Christmas with
their family . They have a big dinner on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day .
They usually have spaghetti with seafood and
several kinds of fish on Christmas Eve, while they have a special lunch with lasagna,
roast-beef , potatos and vegetables on Christmas Day.

Struffoli |
They play tombola and cards , They meet friends and have fun together.
Tombola - it's like Bingo! |
People exchange presents on this day.
People also decorate their house with a big Christmas tree and a crib.(a nativity scene)
Presepe (Crib) |
In the centre of my town there was a big Christmas tree with a lot of lights and a bridge infront of it. Behind the Christmas tree there was the Christmas elf’s house.
There was also an ice-skating rink where people could have fun and listen to music.

I love the big Christmas tree in the centre of town with the elves house, I found it very cute and very festive. It looks like Italy is a lovely place to spend Christmas!
ReplyDeleteChristmas in Italy must be very nice! Your food looks delicious and I especially love the zeppole and Struffoli. What is Struffoli it looks delicious. How do you play tombola? I love ice skating but we do not do it outside in Cape Town. The Christmas tree is amazing and my teacher, Mz Wizz, loves italy and she loves the way you speak and she always says how beautiful it is there! Love Josie
ReplyDeleteHi Josie :) I'm Ester
Deleteyou're right, struffoli are so delicious! But I prefer zeppole.
We play tombola a lot of times in christmas holidays.
Everyone has got a card with on 15 numbers. A person have a ''panariello'' (panariello is a dialect form for this box with 90 numbers inside) that he shake and the number that go out from this box is says and if you have this number on your card, you must cover the number. When you have covered all the numbers you must say ''Tombola!'' and you win some money.
Italian is a beatiful language but I think that english is more simple than italian.
Personally I think that I'm not a very good ice-skater but is so funny! now the holidays are finished and we go to school. I hope that you have learnt some things about our holidays.
Hi there! Your Christmas looks so lovely and special, and the food looks delicious! I'd love to see a traditional Christmas that people celebrate in Italy. Your churches are very beautiful. You are so lucky to have snow sometimes, Cape Town's Christmas is usually hot! The ice-skating looks so fun! I love Lasagne and roast potatoes - they are my favourite food!
